COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS

 

THE FOLLOWING IS A CHECKLIST TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE COMPLETED EVERYTHING THAT YOU NEED TO DO TO APPLY TO THE COLLEGE OF YOUR CHOICE.

 

Step 1:  Complete the application.  Colleges prefer and highly encourage electronic applications.

 

Step 2:  Send your ACT/SAT test scores. You can request that scores be sent to four colleges at the time of test registration for free. There is a fee to send scores after you have taken the test.(ACT – www.actstudent.org fee is $12 and SAT – www.collegeboard.com fee is $17)

 

 ***If you are planning to attend a Technical College, you may need to take the ACCUPLACER at FDTC. https://www.fdtc.edu/student-life/assessment-center/accuplacer

 

Step 3:  Send your transcript. All transcript requests must be made through Parchment.  https://www.parchment.com/log-in/

All transcripts through Parchment are free for all current students.
Please check your school email address to access your Parchment account information.

 

Step 4:  Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA).

***Please remember to bring/email a copies of your acceptance letters to your counselor when you receive them.
