Dear Parents:

I am looking forward to having your child in my class this year.  I expect it to be a great 2018-2019 school year.  I would like to take this opportunity to inform you of some things about my class.

I will be teaching your child Life Skills English/Language Arts, Job Skills Math, Independent Living, and other lessons that are on your child’s IEP.  It would be helpful if you would ask to see your student’s assignment agenda/notebook each day.  That way you can check up on homework and keep up with areas of study as the nine weeks progresses.

My classroom rules are the Darlington County Code of Ethics.  I have this posted in my classroom and have it below for your information.

Code of Ethics

1.  Be responsible for my own behavior.
2.  Honor myself.
3.  Respect others.
4.  Be honest in everything I say or do.
5.  Treat others the way I want to be treated.
6.  Resolve conflicts and solve problems without violence or drugs.
7.  Take pride in my total environment.

Disciplinary Policy:
1st offense = Warning
2nd offense = Student Conference
3rd offense = Parent Contact
4th offense = Lunch detention
5th offense = Referral to the principal/administrator
*Please note that any serious behavior problems or class disruptions may result in an immediate referral to an administrator.*

Please be aware of the Dress Code policy(see student’s agenda of dress code)  (no pants worn below the waist and IDs must be worn at all times)

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your student, please feel free to contact me at (843) 398-5145 (phone in my classroom at school).  The answering machine will pick up if I am unable to answer the phone, please leave a message.  I will return your call as soon as I get a chance.  If it is an emergency, please call Ms. Weaver, (843-398-2730) secretary, and she will send the message to me.

Please look over the syllabus for this class. (Syllabus is given to the student on the first day of school.)
