Courses offered by the Art Department

Art I  - This course is a basic introduction to drawing and design. Emphasis is on organizing and arranging ideas as a creative means of expression. The student draws from life to increase his perceptive ability and expand his visual repertoire. The drawings of master artists are studied to stimulate student expression. Color theory, fundamentals of design, composition, and the elements of art are explored. Three-dimensional design is introduced.

Art II  - In this course emphasis is on the styles and techniques in painting with a more advanced study in three-dimensional design.

Art III  - This course provides more advanced methods and materials in two and three dimensional design and crafts. This course will allow for in-depth study in areas of interest.

Art IV - This course is designed for seniors who will develop an individual series of paintings, focusing on one style of art with a particular theme.
