¡Hola! My name is Ms. Diana Ballén and I am a Spanish Teacher at Darlington High School. I am originally from Bogotá, Colombia.
I attended Universidad Nacional de Colombiawhere I got a Bachelor of Education in Philology and Languages with a Major in Language Teaching. I also hold a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics from Universidad de Jaén (Spain).
I have worked as a language instructor both at the high school level and at the college level in Colombia, Trinidad and Tobago and the U.S.
In 2012, through a J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Award, I worked as a Modern Language Fellow in Spanish in the Modern Language Department at Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania, U.S.
I consider myself a passionate teacher. I want to facilitate each student’s personal and intellectual growth by creating an atmosphere of open communication. I am very excited to be part of the Falcon family.
