Dona Jo R. Brown

I was born and raised in Darlington.  I graduated from St. John's High School in 1989 and Francis Marion University with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology/Chemistry in 1993.  I began teaching at St. John's High School in 1993 and after the consolidation have remained at Darlington High for the last 29 years.  I received my Master's Degree in Education from FMU in 1999 and National Board Certification in 2002 in Adolescence Science.  I am honored to have been chosen the first DHS Teacher of the Year in 1997, DCSD Honor Roll Teacher in 1997 and the Darlington Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year in 2015.  I am currently the DHS Science Department Chair, Lead Secondary Science Teacher for Darlington County, and teach Physical Science Honors, Biology I/II Honors, Biology I CP and Intro to Microbiology, serve as a teacher in the DHS Honors College and sponsor the Darlington Anchor Club. I reside in Darlington with my husband and two sons who both graduated from Darlington High Early Honors College in 2016 and 2021. Go Falcons!!!!
